Frequently Asked Questions

What are the health benefits of Sea moss?

Sea moss is packed with essential vitamins and minerals that support your overall health. It's rich in iodine for thyroid support, boosts immunity with its antioxidants, promotes digestive health, and improves skin hydration. You'll find lots more information across our blog pages, take a quick look!

How is Irish Sea moss different to St Lucian Sea moss and the other available Sea moss gel range?

There are so many different species of sea moss, the most common known are Chrondus crispus (Irish sea moss) and Eucheuma cottonii and Gracilaria (St Lucian sea moss)
Irish Sea moss, also known as Chrondus crispus, is believed to have a slightly different nutrient profile and concentration of bioactive compounds. It is well-known for its higher content of carrageenan, the key polysaccharide with potent anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, and skin-rejuvenating properties. This also makes for a creamier blend in comparison to our other gels giving you a different texturing gel to add to your routine.
Lastly, Its farming methods and limited availability contribute to its premium reputation whereas our St Lucian sea moss is a little bit more abundantly available.

How much Sea moss should I take?

Start with one tablespoon of Sea moss gel daily for a week, then increase to a maximum of two tablespoons thereafter. Our Sea moss spoons are available in the accessories tab and provide the perfect measuring guide.

How long does Sea moss last?

Each jar has a use-by date of about three weeks from when you receive it. However, if you freeze it, it can last up to 3 months. Always keep it refrigerated.

How do you monitor the quality of your Sea moss?

We use a reputable and trusted supplier as well as undergo additional heavy metal testing on our Sea moss to check its quality. We also have been awarded a 5 star rating for food hygiene standards which indicates our preparation methods are both exceptional and comply with the UK law.

Who is Sea moss for?

Sea moss is suitable for anyone, regardless of age. However, due to its high iodine content, those with thyroid disorders or stomach ulcers should consult their doctor before taking it.

How do I store Sea Moss gel?

Yes, Sea moss is beneficial for pregnant women as it supports amniotic fluid production and provides essential nutrients to both mummy and baby. However, always make an informed decision and consider consulting a healthcare professional before adding anything new to your diet. You can find more information on our blog pages about this topic!
